Campaigners lose night flights battle.


CAMPAIGNERS vowed to fight on yesterday despite losing a European court battle with the British Government to ban night flights at the UK's biggest airport.

Judges at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg Strasbourg (sträzbr`), Ger. Strassburg, city (1990 pop. 255,931), capital of Bas-Rhin dept., NE France, on the Ill River near its junction with the Rhine.  ruled by 12 to five that night flying did not breach residents' right to respect for their property and family life.

The judges were considering an appeal by the UK Government to an earlier Strasbourg court victory on night flying for eight members of the Heathrow antinoise an·ti·noise
