Campaign to stop flooding.
THE latest updates on a campaign for new flood defences will take
place next month.

Flood Action Group will host the event at the Town Hall
to provide news on the progress of an alleviation scheme.
The session hopes to include flood protection product exhibitors
and insurance experts, while invites have also gone out to

MFAG Chairman Alan Bell said: "We have invited Lord Smith, but
we don't expect him to come.
"However, we do anticipate that somebody from the Environment
Agency will be there with its preferred option for a flood scheme.
"We have been told that it should have made a decision by then
and if it hasn't, we would expect somebody there to explain why
not."
The flood awareness day will take place on Friday, December 4.
