Camp for free cleft and palate surgery.MULTAN, November 15, 2009 (Balochistan Times): Lions Club International will hold a five-day camp to offer free cleft and palate surgery to patients at Bakhtiar Amin Hospital. Lions Club International Pakistan Chief Zafar Iqbal said the camp would begin from November 19 at Bakhtawar Amin Hospital. He said there would be registration of patients on first two days of the camp while surgeries would be performed on November 22, 23, 24. He said special transport would pick patients from different areas of Multan. About the club, he said it was set up in 1917 to serve humanity and now it had branches in 205 countries. The organisation has 45,000 clubs across the world and 1.3 million volunteers and philanthropists were attached to it. He said 2009-10 was being observed as Beacon of Light and free eye screening of three lakh lakh Noun (in India) 100 000, esp. referring to this sum of rupees [Hindi lākh] Noun 1. lakh - the cardinal number that is the fifth power of ten 100000, hundred thousand people in Pakistan would be ensure.
