Camco Financial Corporation Names Severson Chief Financial Officer.

) announced that Mark A. Severson has been named to the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO See Chief Financial Officer. ) of Camco Financial Corporation and CFO/Senior Vice President of Advantage Bank effective November 13, 2001. Camco's President/CEO Richard C. Baylor made the announcement.

Severson will oversee the financial functions and assisting with investor relations of the corporation and supervise the activities of Camco's accounting departments. He will also be responsible for financial plans and policies for the holding company and Advantage Bank and will serve as a member of Camco's Senior Management Team.

Severson's banking career spans 25 years, most recently having served eleven years as CFO/Senior Vice President at FCNB FCNB First Consumers National Bank  Corp. in Frederick, Maryland. FCNB Corp. was a $1.6 billion asset regional bank holding company. During his tenure at FCNB, Severson was instrumental in achieving an average annual growth in Earnings per Share of 10%, a Return on Equity that exceeded 17% and an average annual growth rate of assets of over 20%. Also active in FCNB's merger and acquisition efforts, Severson played a key role in the purchase of five whole banks, thirteen branches and three insurance agencies.

Severson's background in the financial services industry also includes experience with Union Planters Investment Banking Group (UPIBG), a subsidiary of Union Planters Corporation (UPC). UPIBG was a nationwide fixed-income dealer bank subsidiary of UPC, at the time UPC was a $4 billion bank holding company. Prior to that he was with KPMG Peat Marwick, a multinational CPA (Computer Press Association, Landing, NJ) An earlier membership organization founded in 1983 that promoted excellence in computer journalism. Its annual awards honored outstanding examples in print, broadcast and electronic media. The CPA disbanded in 2000.  firm. Severson holds a BA from the University of Northern Iowa The University of Northern Iowa, in Cedar Falls, Iowa, was founded in 1876, as the Iowa State Normal School. It has colleges of Business Administration, Education, Humanities and Fine Arts, Natural Sciences, and Social and Behavioral Sciences, and a graduate school.  with a major in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Severson belongs to both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants With over 330,525 CPA members (in August 2006), the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) is the largest professional organization of Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) in the United States of America.  and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants.

Severson and his wife, Mariam, will be relocating to the Cambridge, Ohio area with four of their five children.
