Cambrian Communications Appoints William Opet President of Network Services; Telecom Veteran Will Play Leading Role in Company's All-Optical Broadband Services Rollout.

FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 13, 2001

Cambrian Communications, a wholesale metropolitan area network (MAN) provider, today announced the appointment of William A. Opet as President of Network Services.

Opet will report to Chairman and CEO Brian Oliver.

Opet, who has over 20 years of management experience in the telecommunications industry, will lead Cambrian's sales and marketing efforts, product and distribution partnering as the company sets the stage to roll out its Fiber-Rich(SM) wholesale broadband services to major cities and growing suburban markets along the East Coast from Washington, D.C. to New York.

Opet comes to Cambrian from Colo.Com, a privately-held national telecommunications company, where he served as President and COO and oversaw all corporate operations including sales and marketing, finance and accounting, engineering, construction, real estate, installation, product development, legal, customer operations, and relationship management. Previously, Opet held several senior executive positions for PSINet, a leading global internet solutions provider. He was President of Corporate Network Services responsible for the U.S. business-to-business division encompassing all aspects of client acquisition and relationship strategies, marketing and new market development, sales, engineering, and customer support. He also served as President of PSINet Canada, and President TNS Global. Before that time, Bill held senior executive management positions at Geotek Data Company and Lin Broadcasting.

Opet holds Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics from Boston University.
