Cambior wins reclamation award for Valdez Creek.

MONTREAL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 27, 1995--Cambior Alaska Inc., a subsidiary of Cambior Inc., is proud to have been chosen as a recipient for the 1995 Governor's Award For Reclamation by the State of Alaska based upon a recommendation by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management.

A letter received from the Department of Natural Resources, Division of Mining and Water Management (DMWM), states "A review of your mining and reclamation plans, plus field reports and photo documentation by DMWM staff, shows that your mining and reclamation was conducted in a well organized and responsible manner. The resulting landscape shows your careful attention to minimizing the potential for future erosional degradation, while providing an excellent growth medium for rapid recolonization by local plant species. In addition, good planning, with consideration of possible future uses of the ground, has resulted in what promises to be excellent fish and wildlife habitat".
