Cambior confirmed that work continues with a view to resuming commercial production at the Omai Mine following an important failure in the main section of the tailings dam at the mine on August 19, 1995. Cambior currently believes that commercial production at the Omai Mine could resume in December 1995. Omai Gold Mines Limited has received a number of civil claims. Omai Gold Mines Limited, at this point in time, has made payments totalling less than $10,000 to settle certain third party claims.
