Cambex Extends Warranty For FibreQuik PC2000, PC1000 and MC1000 Host Bus Adapters; Three-Year Warranty and Optional Lifetime Extension Is A SAN Industry First.

Cambex Corporation (OTCBB: CBEX), a leading supplier of high availability hardware and software for Storage Area Network (SAN) environments has extended the warranty for it's FibreQuik(TM) PC2000 2 GB/s, PC1000 PCI-to-fibre channel 1GB/s, and MC1000 Micro Channel-to-fibre channel host bus adapters effective immediately.

The warranty extensions are made possible by the 30-year Cambex commitment to high availability product designs and their ISO manufacturing process. Each FibreQuik PCI adapter card now has a three-year return warranty, plus an optional pre-paid lifetime warranty extension for only $295 per card at the time of purchase. "Our experience with the FibreQuik adapter reliability has been excellent," said Arthur Ziskend, VP of Product Assurance at Cambex. "We took this step to help our customers and their service providers maintain heterogeneous SAN implementations at a lower cost," Ziskend added.

The PC2000 host bus adapter is the latest addition to the growing family of FibreQuik products. With a top speed of 2 gigabits/second in each direction, the PC2000 provides 400 MB/s bandwidth in full duplex operation. It's auto sensing and negotiation capability dynamically senses attachments to 1 GB/s target devices and adjusts the data rate accordingly. When the Cambex Dynamic Path Failover(TM) software is implemented, Active-Active operation with multiple PC2000 cards can provide up to 800 MB/s, the highest SAN data transfer rate in the industry.

The PC1000 and MC1000 host bus adapters are compatible with first-generation Fibre Channel hosts and target devices that operate at data rates up to 200 MB/s in full duplex operation, and up to 400 MB/s in Active-Active mode with the Cambex DPF software. The MC1000 is the only fibre channel host bus adapter available for the IBM RS/6000 Micro Channel bus architecture.

Many open systems applications rely upon host clustering and RAID controller failover to provide automated data protection in the event of a component failure. However, the most common storage failure resulting in loss of data access is the vulnerability of cables, connectors, hubs and switches to the accidental disruption of connectivity. The Cambex DPF software recognizes the loss of channel connectivity and transparently switches the storage access to an alternate storage path.

The FibreQuik host bus adapters and DPF software are sold, installed and serviced through Cambex channel partners worldwide.
