believes Joe Calzaghe's world title fight with American Jeff Lacy Jeffrey Scott Lacy (born May 12, 1977 in St. Petersburg, Florida) is an American boxer. Currently fighting in the super middleweight boxing division at 5'9" (though some observers have noted that he looks closer to 5'8') and 168 lb, his record stands at 22 wins (17 by knockout)  will be even better than Ricky Hatton's win over Kostya Tszyu.

title-holder Lacy will go on at Manchester's 22,000-capacity MEN Arena.

The unification fight for the super-middleweight division has a 2am start to fit in with American television.

Calzaghe has been forced out of Wales after plans to stage the fight at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium clashed with the Welsh rugby team's Six Nations commitments.

Warren claims the fight is shaping to be one of the "top three" he has staged in his 25 years as a promoter.

"The best fight I've ever seen in a British ring was Nigel Benn against Gerald McClellan ( an exciting fight with a tragic ending ( but Benn went in as a big underdog," said Warren

"This is a real 50-50 fight between two unbeaten champions.

"Then there was Frank Bruno beating Oliver McCall to become world heavyweight champion ( but this could be the best of the lot.

"Ricky Hatton v Kostya Tszyu was a great fight but Tszyu was getting on and had been out of the ring, only fighting a couple of rounds before meeting Hatton and I always fancied it for Ricky," said Warren.

His claims were backed by Lacy's American promoter Gary Shaw who said: "I don't have to build up this fight because we're not getting anything from the seat sales.

"But when was the last time you had two fighters in the ring who were 60-0 with 48 knock-outs between them? What a great occasion."
