Calzaghe Frisby retired to stud.

CALZAGHE FRISBY FRISBY Free Floating, Interconnecting Signal Buoy, Y-Class , a stalwart of the open-race circuit in the past three seasons, has been retired to stud after tearing a muscle in a recent trial, writes Peter Meldrum.

Trained in his formative races by Ted Soppitt, Calzaghe Frisby was a finalist in the 2006 Ladbrokes Puppy Derby. He went on to reach the semis of the Puppy Derby, Puppy Classic and the Manchester Puppy Derby in that first season, before stepping up in trip to win the Stayers final at the Racing Post The Racing Post is a British daily horse racing, greyhound racing and sports betting newspaper. It is owned by Sheikh Mohammed and published under a 10 year lease by Trinity Mirror.  Festival at Walthamstow.

 decider at the Stow, he was purchased soon after by Miles Anderton and moved to the kennels of Laurence Tuffin, where he finished his career.

Tuffin said: "To be honest he was past his prime when I got him but he was still a very useful dog and won a few decent races at Walthamstow for us, in fast times."

"Breeder Kevin Black has a few brood bitches he would like to send him to and has asked if he can stand Calzaghe at stud. I don't think there's anything to lose by letting him have a bit of fun covering some bitches. If he can throw a few pups half as good as he was, we'll all be happy."
