The company announced that it has withdrawn its proposal seeking shareholder approval for discretionary board authority for a reverse stock split, as stated in the company's preliminary proxy filed with the SEC on July 17, 2002.

Anthony Cataldo, Calypte's Executive Chairman, stated, "Although we had no intention of exercising a reverse split in the foreseeable future, the Board has chosen to remove this element from the proxy to avoid any possible misunderstanding of management's intentions."
