Calyon Appoints Andrew Schaeffer, 16-Year Wall Street Financial Executive, Head of Debt Capital Markets Origination.

 -- Calyon Americas, the New York-based regional unit of the Credit Agricole Group's corporate and investment banking arm, today announced the appointment of Andrew Schaeffer as Managing Director and Head of Debt Capital Markets - Origination.

Mr. Schaeffer, who has been associated with a number of leading financial institutions on Wall Street for the past 16 years, was most recently Managing Director of Capital Markets at Bank of New York The Bank of New York, abbrieviated to BNY, was a global financial services company that existed until its merger with the Mellon Financial Corporation on July 2, 2007.[1] The bank now continues under the new name of The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation. , where over the past two years he was responsible for building the origination and syndication bond capabilities of that firm.

At Calyon, Andrew will report locally to Ron Krolick, Managing Director, who heads the Debt Capital Markets Division. The Debt Capital Markets Division includes units dealing in the Securitization (Liquid and Specialized), High Yield and Leveraged Capital Markets, Structured Financial Solutions, and Municipal and Public Finance. On a global basis, Andrew will report to Jean-Marc Blankert, Managing Director and Global Head of DCM DCM

Prior to joining Bank of New York in 2005, Mr. Schaeffer served in senior positions at several firms, including Barclays Capital, where he was Head of Syndicate for the Americas, Donaldson Lufkin Jenrette (Global Head of Syndications), Deutsche Morgan Grenfell (Senior Vice President in the High Grade Syndicate Department), Lehman Brothers, (Vice President in Taxable Fixed Income Syndicate) and Continental Asset Management Co. (Portfolio Manager/Tax Advantaged Fixed Income Department.)

He started his Wall Street career at Prudential Insurance Company. Mr. Schaeffer is a graduate of Vassar College and received his MBA MBA
