Calyon Americas Names David Jana as CEO of Banco Calyon Brasil and SCO of Brazil.

 PAULO, Brazil -- Calyon Americas, the New York-based regional unit for the Americas of the Credit Agricole Group's corporate and investment banking arm, today announced the appointment of David Andres Jana Bitran as Chief Executive Officer of Banco Calyon Brasil and as Senior Country Officer of Calyon for Brazil, effective upon obtention Noun 1. obtention - the act of obtaining

 of the relevant Brazilian regulatory and administrative authorizations.

Mr. Jana has a wide range of banking experience in Latin America, and for the past three years served as Chief Financial Officer of the Chilean state-owned oil company, Empresa Nacional Del Petroleo (ENAP ENAP École Nationale d'Administration Publique (Université du Québec)

He succeeds Alexander Rabinowitz, who has headed Calyon Brazil for 5 years, and who is leaving the group at the end of October for personal reasons.

"David has an outstanding record of accomplishment, and his extensive experience will prove extremely valuable as we continue to develop our business in Brazil, with the further support of recent hires in our teams and Banco Calyon Brasil's capital increase."

As head of Banco Calyon Brasil, Mr. Jana will be responsible for the team that manages the global Calyon relationship with local clients, including commercial strategy, originating business across product lines, and coordinating execution of business with the support of New York- or Paris-based product lines. He also will be responsible for local banking capabilities including advisory and capital markets. David Jana's experience will ensure continuity in the bank's drive to achieve the best standards in serving its customers.
