Calvin Klein Launches Newest Characters in cK one Advertising Campaign; Next Advertising Wave Includes Personal Ads and Interactive MTV Online Feature.


NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 10, 1999--

 Cosmetics Company today announced the introduction of three new characters in the global advertising for its cK one fragrance.

The campaign features a diverse cast whose lives are intertwined in an ongoing storyline Noun 1. storyline - the plot of a book or play or film
plot line

plot - the story that is told in a novel or play or movie etc.; "the characters were well drawn but the plot was banal"
 that unfolds through a mix of television, print and outdoor imagery, and e-mail.

Danny (e-mail: danny@ckone.com), a 17-year old high school senior, is the first new character to debut this year, with full television rollout in May. Ian, a 20-something director's assistant, will debut on television in June, with his best friend, Kristy, following in July. The new additions will become involved with the first three cK one characters - Tia (tia@ckone.com), Robert (robert@ckone.com) and Anna (anna@ckone.com).

Consumers who send an initial e-mail establish a direct link to the cK one storyline, as characters reveal themselves through stream of consciousness excerpts, confessions, random thoughts of the day - all reflecting the intimacy and complexity of how people relate in the world today.
