Calvert Sponsors 15th Annual 'Make-A-Wish' Golf Classic; Firm Proudly Supports 'Make-A-Wish' for 14 Consecutive Years.

Calvert, one of the largest mutual fund complexes in the Washington D.C. area with approximately $8.4 billion in assets, is proud to participate for the 14th consecutive year in the 15th Annual Make-A-Wish Golf Classic.

On Monday, June 24, the Annual Golf Classic takes place at Tournament Players Club at Avenel in Potomac, Maryland. Playing the course will be prominent CEOs, presidents, executives, clients and employees of area businesses.

The fundraiser benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation(R) of the Mid-Atlantic, Inc. (MAWFMA), a non-profit organization dedicated to fulfilling the wishes of area children facing life-threatening illnesses.

Founded in 1983, MAWFMA has been dedicated to helping enrich the human experience with hope, joy and strength. The Foundation serves children living in the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, and Delaware.

Last year's tournament raised enough money to fulfill the wishes of 26 children. Last year, the foundation fulfilled the wishes of more than 300 area children. Each year, many employees from Calvert organize and volunteer at the event by participating and assisting.

As a socially responsible company, Calvert promotes employee community service. Participation in this event is just another example of how Calvert cares about the community at large. As a result, Calvert has donated to this event for 14 years.

Calvert's philosophy of volunteerism is embodied in the Chief Investment Officer, Reno Martini and General Counsel Bill Tartikoff. They have been involved with the Make-A-Wish Foundation for several years serving on the board of directors of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter. In the Mid-Atlantic Chapter, 91 cents of each dollar are spent on wishes for children.

Martini explains that both he and Calvert are attracted to promoting and contributing to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, "because it helps kids achieve dreams they may not normally be able to accomplish because of their illnesses." He adds, "We are committed to Make-A-Wish for a simple reason, it is the right thing to do."
