Calvert Health Continues Expansion in Virginia.

BALTIMORE -- Continuing its rapid growth across the Commonwealth, Calvert Health Partners, LLC (CHP) - a senior care management team - has purchased its fourth Virginia home health care agency, which has operations in Staunton and Charlottesville.

Baltimore-based CHP purchased Assured Home Health Care from Henix Partners, LLC on January 1, 2007. Just four months earlier, CHP acquired three private home health agencies including: Advantage Care of Shenandoah, serving the western Virginia/Shenandoah Valley area; Home Care Connection, Inc. of Richmond, and Tama Home Health, which serves the Norfolk and Virginia Beach markets. Terms of the transactions were not disclosed.

Operations of Assured Home Health Care will be folded-into Advantage Care agency operations and employees are being offered employment with Advantage Care; there will be no disruption to patient care as a result of this change in ownership, Nelson stated.

New technologies now enable unprecedented integration of health services enabling quality improvement while managing costs, explained Nelson, who suggests new standards of personalization and care coordination are now achievable. These Virginia localities can expect to see a rise in employment as the company's growth plans call for steady increases in nursing, physical and occupational therapy and certified home health staffing levels.
