Kennedy won a gold medal at the Mod (Scotland), singing in Scottish Gaelic. , who died earlier this year. Narrated by one of his daughters, singer and presenter Fiona, the film reflects on Calum's considerable career which spanned half a century. It also features archive footage of the singer and contributions fromfriends including River City's Johnny Beattie Johnny Beattie MBE (born November 9, 1927, Govan, Glasgow) is a Scottish actor and comedian. He began his career in the music hall and variety show tradition, similar to Scottish figures such as Rikki Fulton, Jack Milroy and Stanley Baxter, all of whom knew each other and , former Labour MP BrianWilson, folk duo Phil Cunningham and Aly Bain, Radio Scotland's Robbie Shepherd and veteran musicians the Alexander Brothers. In 1955 Calum found fame after winning a gold medal at the National Modin Aberdeen, before an audience which included the Queen Mother and Princess Margaret.
