walked out for "personal reasons" but the World Cup technical committee have allowed Scotland to draft in MacLeod as a replacement even though the switch is not injuryrelated.

MacLeod joins batsman Navdeep Poonia in the Scotland set-up while the Bears are also without paceman Boyd Rankin who is in the Ireland squad for the tournament.

With Rikki Clarke and Andrew Miller still on the way back from injury, Warwickshire's seambowling resources will be stretched when they play Nottinghamshire at Edgbaston on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Scotland will today attempt to put their preparations for the World Twenty20 back on track after Blain's unexpected walk-out.

The former Northamptonshire and Yorkshire player left the squad after an exchange of views on Saturday.

Blain is expected to be a major loss for Scotland in the three-week long tournament and in today's warm-up match against England at Trent Bridge.

Cricket Scotland chief executive Roddy Smith said: "After a practice match on Saturday there was a team meeting and harsh words were said.

"John then decided he wanted to leave the squad. We respect his decision and it gives Calum an opportunity."
