The Aberdeen-based oil tycoon has already made a cash injection and will put more money in over the summer but there will be no significant funds for manager Jocky Scott.

Self-confessed Aberdeen fan Melville, who joined the board after applying to an advert for new directors, has been quoted as having a fortune of around pounds 100million but his personal worth is significantly less.

The 40-year-old is happy to have linked up with his second favourite team. He said: "I have already put some money into Dundee and will give more. But I certainly won't be doubling the player budget.
