Calpine Announces 1995 Second Quarter and First-Half Earnings.

SAN JOSE San Jose, city, United States
San Jose (sănəzā`, săn hōzā`), city (1990 pop. 782,248), seat of Santa Clara co., W central Calif.; founded 1777, inc. 1850.
, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 14, 1995--Calpine Corporation, the San Jose, CA-based power company, today reported revenue was $28.3 million and $50.4 million for the three months and six months ended June 30, 1995, compared with $22.9 million and $42.8 million for the same periods in 1994.

The increases in revenue are primarily due to additional electricity and steam sales generated from Calpine Thermal Power geothermal steam fields, which the Company acquired in September 1994, and the recently acquired Greenleaf gas-fired power facilities. Revenue for the second quarter 1995 was affected by curtailments of purchases by Pacific Gas and Electric Company

Net income for the quarter was $239,000 and $298,000 for the three and six months ended June 30, 1995, compared with $2.4 million and $3.3 million in 1994, reflecting curtailment of the Company's power facilities.
