Calm Williams is the hero.

DARIN WILLIAMS was the Elland hero as they held their nerve to win one of the best RCD Under 9 finals there has ever been.

Hot favourites Howden Clough took a first-half lead through Callum Pearson but Elland stuck to their task and were finally rewarded when Nathan Hirst struck the equaliser just minutes from the final whistle.

Neither side were able to improve on their score in extra-time and the destiny of the cup had to be decided from the penalty spot.

With Howden Clough missing just one of their five spot kicks, Darin Williams was given the responsibility of scoring the winning penalty for Elland and the cool youngster smashed the ball into the roof of the net for a 5-4 success after a 1-1 draw in normal and extra-time.

Dewsbury Rangers took the Under 10 Cup, beating Hepworth United 2-1.

With only one league defeat between them this season, there was little to choose between the sides. Goals from Callum Kemp and Jamil Sair settled the issue in Dewsbury's favour. Josh Holbury netted for Hepworth United.

The Under 12 Cup went to Wyke Wanderers, who defeated previously unbeaten YMCA 2-1 with two late goals.

Having already secured the league title, YMCA's hopes of completing a league and cup double looked safe when Jake Robshaw gave them a first half lead but, for the rest of the game, Wyke were equal to the champions and, when George Payton equalised mid-way through the second half it was no more than they deserved.

Luke Yates upset the form book by giving Wyke the lead late in extra-time and, with just minutes remaining, YMCA were unable to recover.

Collegians won the Under 13 final 3-1 against Britannia.

Ben Harrison gave Collegians an early lead and Britannia knew they were in for a tough day when Niall Finneran doubled the score.

Britannia hit back with a brilliant Luke Hill shot.

Midfielder James Coverdale was carried off for Collegians with suspected ligament damage but they went on and seal the final with an Aidan Fisher penalty..
