Calls for red squirrel visitor centre.CALLS have been made to set up a visitor centre at Newborough forest Newborough Forest is a forest to the west of Newborough on Anglesey in North Wales. It is one of the most important red squirrel conservation sites in the United Kingdom. to promote the conservation of the red squirrel population. Dr Craig Shuttleworth, the Red Squirrel project officer, has joined with Plaid Westminster candidate for Anglesey Dylan Rees to make the appeal Mr Rees said: "After 12 years of dedicated work by the project team Newborough forest has now been established as a stronghold for the red squirrel.
