Callison designing retail and entertainment facility for Hawaii's largest shopping center.


SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 31, 1995--Seattle-based Callison Architecture has been chosen to provide design services for the recently announced addition and expansion of retail and entertainment at Hawaii's Ala

 Moana Center, one of the largest shopping centers in the United States with more than triple the number of annual visitors as Disneyland.

Callison will also be providing graphic and interior design services for the renovation of the existing shopping center. The planned new addition will include 245,000 square feet of retail and entertainment.

 Group, originally designed Ala Moana Center and has been retained as the architect of record for the renovation portion of the project. Ala Moana Center opened in 1959 and is located 1-1/4 miles from Waikiki, Hawaii's tourist and hotel hub.

Recently, Callison has completed design services for other high-profile shopping centers, including Fashion Show Mall on the Las Vegas Strip, Metrocenter in Phoenix, and Portland, Oregon's Clackamas Towne Center. Other Callison retail clients include Nordstrom, L.L. Bean, The Edward J. DeBartolo Corporation, CenterMark Properties, J.W. O'Connor & Company and LaSalle Partners.

Callison was founded in 1975 and is one of the largest design firms in the United States with a staff of more than 300.
