Callisma, Inc., the premier provider of network services, announced today the establishment of an alliance to provide end-to-end storage consulting for large-scale enterprise and service provider clients. Today Brocade also announced its Professional Services Provider Program in which Callisma, as one of the first members, will be working in close conjunction with Brocade Fabric Partners, such as systems integrators and master resellers, to provide SAN architecture and design solutions for next-generation storage networking implementations based on Brocade SAN infrastructure, as enterprises and service providers transition from simple to large-scale SAN deployments.

"In today's economic environment, it is crucial that we help clients understand the financial benefits associated with storage networking solutions. As a network services company, our strategy is to provide expertise in those critical and emerging technologies best able to provide business relevance," said Ralph Troupe, president and chief executive officer, Callisma. "With the rapidly increasing amount of information corporations manage every day, storage networking is fast emerging as one of the key IT technologies companies will need to survive and thrive. By working with Brocade, we've joined forces with the world's leading provider of SAN infrastructure to deliver an unparalleled base of solutions based on best-in-class switches and software, along with our architecture and design expertise."

Callisma will provide architecture and design services for clients by leveraging the Brocade SOLUTIONware(TM) library, a family of pre-tested application-specific SAN implementation guidelines designed to simplify the integration and configuration of SAN solutions. Callisma will offer a variety of SOLUTIONware-based SAN services, including storage and server consolidation, backup and restore, disaster recovery, and high availability Also called "RAS" (reliability, availability, serviceability) or "fault resilient," it refers to a multiprocessing system that can quickly recover from a failure. There may be a minute or two of downtime while one system switches over to another, but processing will continue. . Callisma will also leverage the Return on Investment (ROI (Return On Investment) The monetary benefits derived from having spent money on developing or revising a system. In the IT world, there are more ways to compute ROI than Carter has liver pills (and for those of you who never heard of that expression, it means a lot). ) Assessment Methodology developed by Brocade, which allows companies to quickly measure the significant, quantifiable benefits of implementing a storage area network, through server and storage consolidation, centralized cen·tral·ize
