CallWare Introduces Intr@FAX as First Fully-Integrated NetWare-Based Fax Solution; Intr@FAX adds fax to CallWare's Unified Messaging and Intranet Telephony Products.

SALT LAKE CITY--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 26, 1997--CallWare Technologies Inc., today announced Intr@FAX, the first and only NetWare-based fax server solution that is fully integrated with telephony technology and the Internet.

With telephony integration CallWare's Intr@FAX offers advanced fax features including: same or separate call fax back, store and forward faxing, fax broadcast and intelligent fax routing. Intr@FAX operates with CallWare's Intranet Telephony Suite of products to provide unified messaging Having access to e-mail, voice mail and faxes via a common computer application or by telephone. For example, unified messaging may send faxes and digitized voice mail to a mail server that turns them into e-mail attachments.  and the ability to send and retrieve faxes over the Internet with no long distance telephone charges involved.

"CallWare's Intr@FAX delivers superior fax technology to users at an affordable price. Users receive all the same features as other fax server products (send, receive, view, print, route, delete, annotate annotate - annotation  and distribute fax messages) plus advanced features requiring telephony integration," stated Reino Kerttula, executive vice president of Marketing for CallWare Technologies.

"Because our powerful integrated voice and fax technology requires only class 2/2.0 fax modems, Intr@FAX offers the most cost effective solution for users. Now there is no need to purchase costly fax boards to provide intelligent call routing."

CallWare currently supports integration with existing fax servers. However, to overcome the limitations of existing fax servers (such as manual routing, setting up DID lines and purchasing expensive fax boards), CallWare has taken its proven voice technology and applied it to fax applications.

CallWare's Intr@FAX uses DTMF (Dual-Tone MultiFrequency) The type of audio signals that are generated when you press the buttons on a touch-tone telephone. See also DMTF.

routing, allowing senders to direct faxes by entering the recipient's extension number. This direct routing provides total security and privacy for the recipient. With CallWare's Intr@FAX, a traveling employee that receives a fax in his or her mailbox can be notified of the new fax via pager, telephone or through a screen pop on a computer.

The employee can then retrieve the fax over the Internet and view it on his or her laptop PC. If a hard copy is needed, the employee can then direct the fax to the hotel's fax machine. Faxes can also be annotated and forwarded to others.
