Call-Net Executives Appointed to Cybersurf's Board of Directors.


CALGARY, ALBERTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--August 3, 1999--

Cybersurf is pleased to announce that it has appointed Call-Net executives Vincent W. Salvati and Stephen P. Monk to its Board of Directors. This move follows Call-Net's investment to expedite the launch of the Cybersurf's free Internet service An ISP that provides access to the Internet without charge to the user. The service is supported by advertising which appears on a special version of the user's browser and cannot be eliminated. NetZero (www.netzero.  in Canada's major metropolitan centers, and marks the next stage in the strategic partnership between the two companies.

Vincent W. Salvati

Vincent W. Salvati is Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Call-Net Enterprises, Inc., a rapidly growing Canadian-based telecommunications company See telecom company. . Mr. Salvati began his telecommunications career in 1981 at AT&T International where he served as controller. He has served in key leadership positions in both the equipment and services businesses throughout his 14 years at AT&T. In 1995, Mr. Salvati became Group Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Bell Canada Bell Canada Enterprises (TSX: BCE, NYSE: BCE), legally BCE Inc., is a major Canadian telecommunications company. Through its subsidiaries including Bell Canada, Bell Aliant, Northwestel, Télébec, and NorthernTel, it is the incumbent local exchange carrier for , the largest of the Canadian telecommunications companies. He was a key member of the executive team that accelerated the transition from monopoly to a competitive enterprise. During his tenure, earnings increased over 60% and the Company posted two consecutive years of positive free cash flow for the first time in over 50 years.

Mr. Salvati joined Call-Net Enterprises, Inc. in December 1998. He also serves as a Director of Microcell Telecommunications, Inc., a Canadian wireless operator in which Call-Net holds an equity interest. A veteran of more than 18 years in the telecommunications industry, he holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from St. Francis College and a Masters Degree in economics from St. John's University. Mr. Salvati has also completed the Advanced Management Program at INSEAD INSEAD Institut Européen d'Administration des Affaires (European Institute for Business Administration; now know simply as INSEAD)

Stephen P. Monk

Stephen P. Monk is the Manager, Corporate Development for Call-Net Enterprises Inc. Joining Call-Net in November of 1997, Mr. Monk's responsibilities include mergers and acquisitions as well as strategic planning and development. Prior to joining Call-Net, Mr. Monk worked as a corporate and securities lawyer at Davies, Ward and Beck, one of Canada's leading law firms. Mr. Monk is also an electrical engineer and has worked at leading companies such as Lockheed Canada and SHL SHL Shift Logical Left
