Call to set up human security council in Arab region.


DOHA Arab Democracy Foundation Secretary-General Mohsen Marzouq has suggested the setting up of a council for human security in the Arab region. Marzouq said that two wars in Lebanon and Palestinian and five armed conflicts have occurred in the region since the Forum for the Future took shape. He urged Arabs to think deeply to redress the decline in development and democracy for achieving a better future. In his speech, NHRC chief Ali bin Samikh al Marri said the conference is being held because of the keenness of the Arab civil society organisations to partner with governments in order to face emerging risks at local and international levels. "Conflicts, poverty, illiteracy, epidemics, natural disasters and pollution which have no geographical boundaries oblige us to develop coherent approaches to achieve human security by promoting international solidarity and helping poor countries'', said al Murri Murri can refer to any of following:

. Al Marri said that Qatar has paid great attention to reforms, political and socio-economic development and has hosted many meetings to deepen international dialogue about human security. He said that human security will not be achieved as long as Palestinians are living under siege in Gaza with the international community watching indifferently.
