Call for nominations for AICPA educator award.State CPA (Computer Press Association, Landing, NJ) An earlier membership organization founded in 1983 that promoted excellence in computer journalism. Its annual awards honored outstanding examples in print, broadcast and electronic media. The CPA disbanded in 2000. societies and individuals are invited to nominate nom·i·nate tr.v. nom·i·nat·ed, nom·i·nat·ing, nom·i·nates 1. To propose by name as a candidate, especially for election. 2. To designate or appoint to an office, responsibility, or honor. an accounting educator for the 2007 AICPA AICPA See American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Distinguished Achievement in Accounting Education award. This award is designed to recognize full-time college accounting educators distinguished for excellence in teaching and for national prominence in the accounting profession. The nominee nominee n. 1) a person or entity who is requested or named to act for another, such as an agent or trustee. 2) a potential successor to another's rights under a contract. must: be a current full-time or recently retired (within the past five years) accounting educator at a post-secondary educational institution; be distinguished for excellence in classroom teaching; be involved in curriculum development; be contributing to the accounting profession; and exemplify ex·em·pli·fy tr.v. ex·em·pli·fied, ex·em·pli·fy·ing, ex·em·pli·fies 1. a. To illustrate by example: exemplify an argument. b. the philosophy of the CPA Vision. Educators who are noted for their teaching abilities but are now primarily involved in administration or research are eligible for the award. Nominations are due Feb. 1, 2007.
