* Magnum Opus opus (ō`pəs) [Lat.,=work], in music, term used in cataloging a composer's works, designating either a single composition or a group published together or considered a unit.  Awards, sponsored by Publications Management newsletter in cooperation with the Missouri School of Journalism The Missouri School of Journalism [2] is the world’s first school of journalism. It was founded by Walter Williams on Sept. 14, 1908, on the campus of the University of Missouri–Columbia. , is dedicated to corporate and custom publishing excellence, both in print and online.

Its 49 categories (divided into Editorial, Design, and Strategy) include such unusual ones as Best Headline, Best Sidebar (1) A Windows Vista desktop panel that holds mini applications (gadgets) such as a calendar, calculator, stock ticker and Vonage phone dialer. It is the Windows counterpart to the Dashboard in the Mac. See Windows Vista and gadget. , even Best Table of Contents--in addition to more traditional ones such as Best Use of Color not of the white race; - commonly meaning, esp. in the United States, of negro blood, pure or mixed.

A Gold, Silver, Bronze and three Honorable Mention Magnum Opus awards will be given in each category. One Grand Magnum Opus award will be given in each of eight categories.
