Call for Nominations: ITA Seeks Illinois' Best and Brightest for the Eighth Annual CityLIGHTS Awards.Leading Illinois Technology Companies and Individuals to Gather at Annual Celebration of the Illinois Technology Industry CHICAGO -- The Illinois Information Technology Association (ITA ITA abbr. initial teaching alphabet ITA initial teaching alphabet: a partly phonetic alphabet used to teach reading ITA n abbr (BRIT) (= initial teaching alphabet) → ) today announced that it is accepting nominations for the 2007 CityLIGHTS Awards. The awards recognize and celebrate outstanding information technology companies, executives and advocates in Illinois. This year, ITA is recognizing excellence in six categories: * CityLIGHTS Award: Given to an individual that has made a significant impact on the Illinois technology community. * CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. of the Year Award: Given to the CEO who has driven his company to new heights in the past year. * Spotlight Award: Given to the CIO/CTO for leadership and outstanding contributions in the application of information technology. * Lighthouse lighthouse, towerlike structure erected to give guidance and warning to ships and aircraft by either visible or radioelectrical means. Lighthouses were long built to conform in structure to their geographical location. Until the beginning of the 19th cent.
