APRS American Parks and Recreation Society
 recognizes and honors individuals who have rendered significant service to the association, society and the field of parks and recreation. Applications are now available for the 2006 APRS Awards Program. The following awards will be given at the APRS President's Reception and Award Ceremony that will take place during NRPA's Congress & Exposition exposition or exhibition, term frequently applied to an organized public fair or display of industrial and artistic productions, designed usually to promote trade and to reflect cultural progress.  in Seattle Seattle (sēăt`əl), city (1990 pop. 516,259), seat of King co., W Wash., built on seven hills, between Elliott Bay of Puget Sound and Lake Washington; inc. 1869. , Wash., Oct. 10-14:

The David E. Clark Distinguished Professional Award--honors a member who has given substantial contributions to the field on a national, regional and local level. Must have a minimum of 10 years experience in the field of parks and recreation.

Deserving reward or praise; having merit.

 Professional Awards--recognizes a professional member who has given outstanding contributions and leadership to the field.

APRS Meritorious Citizen Award--acknowledges a citizen, member or volunteer who has contributed to the park movement on a national level.
