Mr Redshaw was seen walking around Whitley Bay drinking from a bottle of methadone methadone (mĕth`ədōn', –dŏn'), synthetic narcotic similar in effect to morphine. Synthesized in Germany, it came into clinical use after World War II. It is sometimes used as an analgesic and to suppress the cough reflex. in the early hours of June 27. An ambulance was called but when paramedics arrived, the 2-year-old refused treatment and signed an exemption form. A verdict of accidental death was recorded. |
