Calix Conducts Large-Scale, Multi-Vendor IPTV / VOIP Demonstration with CalixCompatible Partners at SUPERCOMM 2005.
WHO: Calix today announced it will showcase live demonstrations
of IP-based voice, data, and video services delivered via
the Calix C7 multiservice access platform at the SUPERCOMM
2005 conference. The demonstrations incorporate products
from multiple CalixCompatible partners that have passed a
rigorous certification process to ensure interoperability
among components required to deliver advanced IP-based
voice, data, and video services.
A number of CalixCompatible partners will participate in
the demonstrations, including Nortel, a global leader in
transforming carrier networks from circuit to packet,
CopperCom, which provides innovative, next-generation
softswitch solutions, and MetaSwitch, the leading vendor of
Class 4/5 softswitch solutions. Both vendors have
demonstrated H.248 interoperability between their solutions
and the Calix C7.
WHAT: The live demonstrations -- which can be seen at Calix's
booth #51000 -- will include IPTV over ADSL2+, H.248 voice
over IP (VOIP), HDTV over ADSL2+ and FTTP, video on demand
(VOD) using the bandwidth reservation protocol (BRP), and
switched video services over both ADSL2+ and fiber to the
premises (FTTP) broadband passive optical network (BPON)
with a variety of optical network terminal (ONT) units,
including the Siemens BPON family of solutions.
