 standards.

The BHFTI says the update reflects advances in science and product technology. The Association of Woodworking and Furnishings Suppliers, however, says that the polyester polyester, synthetic fiber, produced by the polymerization of the product formed when an alcohol and organic acid react. The outstanding characteristic of polyesters is their ability to resist wrinkling and to spring back into shape when creased.  and foam currently used in furniture will not pass the new standards, and that fabric choices that would pass are likely to be more toxic and less comfortable.

The proposed Technical Bulletin can be downloaded in .pdf format at BHFTTs Web site at http://www.dca.ca.gov/bhfti/.
