) will hold its 77th annual conference in Palm Springs on April 12-15, 2005. More than 1,800 water and environmental professionals and exhibitors are expected to attend to study environmental issues affecting the State of California. The Opening Session, which will be held on Wednesday, April 13th, at 9:00 a.m., will feature a five-speaker series on the Salton Sea Salton Sea (sôl`tən), saline lake, 370 sq mi (958 sq km), northern part of the Imperial Valley, SE Calif.; 232 ft (71 m) below sea level.  Restoration Project. Mr. Ron Enzweiler, Salton Sea Authority The Salton Sea Authority is a Joint Powers Authority whose goal is the revitalization of the Salton Sea in California. It was created on June 2 1993 by the state of California "for the purpose of ensuring the beneficial uses of the Salton Sea.  Executive Director, will be one of the speakers. A press conference with Opening Session speakers and other leaders mentioned above will be held immediately following the Opening Session in the Palm Springs Convention Center The Palm Springs Convention Center is a 160,000 square foot facility located in downtown Palm Springs, California. It can accommodate groups from 12 to 9,000 in size, depending on the configuration.  Cactus Room. All press members are invited to attend.
