NASA in full National Aeronautics and Space Administration Independent U.S. , select teachers from California have been invited to attend a workshop this Thursday at the Dryden Flight Research Center The Dryden Flight Research Center (DFRC), located inside Edwards Air Force Base, is an aeronautical research center operated by NASA. On March 26, 1976 it was named in honor of the late Hugh L. to learn more about the history of space technology. Approximately 20 teachers from across the state will tour the Dryden Center, learn about the center's history, familiarize themselves with the site's educational resources, and gather ideas for new lesson plans to assist their students in developing projects for the National History Day program. This year's theme is Science, Technology & Invention in History. NASA is sponsoring the one-day workshops at each of its 11 sites across the country for teachers who participate in the National History Day program. As NASA celebrates its 40th anniversary, teacher workshops on the intersection of history and technology are a unique way to highlight the significance of the space program.
