California State Attorney General Jerry Brown and Riverside District Attorney Rod Pacheco to Speak at the Justice for Homicide Victims Memorial.


CERRITOS, Calif. -- California Attorney General The California Attorney General is the State Attorney General of the government of the state of California in the USA. The officer's duty is to ensure that "the laws of the state are uniformly and adequately enforced" (California Constitution, Article V, Section 13.  Jerry Brown will discuss how the recession is forcing early-release programs and other budget cuts to the justice system as families of homicide victims gather Sunday to mark the start of National Crime Victims' Rights Week Crime Victims' Rights Week is an annual commemoration in the United States that promotes victims' rights and services. The week is marked by an award ceremony held in Washington, D.C.  and remember loved ones who died violently.

Among those expected to attend are Laura Gardhouse of Corona whose son, Sean, was killed in 2006, and Jan Williams, whose son, Neal, and two grandsons, Devon and Ian, were murdered in 2007. Both will be available to discuss their journeys of suffering and survival and their frustrations with the criminal justice system.

Brown will be the first recipient of the Robert W. Leach Victim Advocate Award, which honors those who fight on behalf of the dead and is named for the co-founder of Justice for Homicide Victims. Robert W. Leach, who died in 2008, was the step-father of Marsy Nicholas, who was studying to be a teacher when she was murdered in 1983.

Nearly all U.S. states have enacted some victims' rights legislation.  law passed by California voters in November 2008.

Riverside District Attorney Rod Pacheco will discuss his county's implementation of Marsy's Law. Pacheco will be awarded the Ellen Griffin Dunne Victim Advocate Award. JHV JHV Japan Home Video  President Arnold Heilemann will share details of the recent parole hearing he attended for the murderer of his son. Jamiel Shaw, Sr. will talk about the murder of his son Jamiel Shaw, Jr. and Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Steve Ipsen will present JHV Medallions to outstanding District Attorneys.

Vocal performances by the International Peace Choir will be featured.

Why let a crook like Pacheco speak on behalf of victims. His office conducts Brady violations and prosecutorial misconduct on a routine basis. Check Necochea and Hong as latest deputy d.a.s to carry out Pacheco's tactics.
