California Speedway, Juan Pablo Montoya and Carlos Contreras to Host NASCAR 101 Session.


ESPN Deportes ESPN Deportes is a cable television network dedicated to broadcasting sports-related programming 24 hours a day in the Spanish language. Deportes means "sports" in Spanish. :
WHO:        NASCAR driver Juan Pablo Montoya, ESPN Deportes analyst
            Carlos Contreras and California Speedway.

WHAT:       Will host an informative "NASCAR 101" session for the
            Spanish- language media in the California community. Juan
            Pablo Montoya, driver of the #42 Texaco/Havoline NASCAR
            NEXTEL Cup Series car, along with Carlos Contreras,
            analyst on ESPN Deportes, will meet and greet
            Spanish-language media in the California market to discuss
            NASCAR and the West Coast Premiere of NASCAR at California
            Speedway. Additionally, Montoya and Contreras will be
            available for media interviews to help promote this
            weekend's NASCAR races at California Speedway. Montoya is
            competing in his first full season with NASCAR, after
            enjoying a successful career as an open-wheel icon.
            Contreras is the first Hispanic to compete in a full
            NASCAR season and recently joined ESPN Deportes as analyst
            for the network's Spanish-language flag-to-flag coverage
            of the 2007 NASCAR season. He will make his first
            appearance on ESPN Deportes' flag-to-flag coverage of the
            Stater Bros. 300 NASCAR Busch Series race at California
            Speedway on Saturday, February 24.

WHY:        California Speedway would like to invite any and all
            Spanish-language media in the California area to come out
            to the track for an informal discussion about NASCAR and
            the West Coast Premiere of NASCAR at California Speedway
            this weekend. California Speedway will host three NASCAR
            races: the San Bernardino 200 NASCAR Craftsman Truck
            Series race (Friday, February 23); the Stater Bros. 300
            NASCAR Busch Series race (Saturday, February 24) and the
            Auto Club 500 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race (Sunday,
            February 25). A tour of the facility will be offered to
            those media outlets interested in learning more about
            California Speedway.
