California Small Business Leaders Converge on State Capitol to Lobby for Workers' Compensation and Auto Repair Reform.

SACRAMENTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 19, 2004

Over two hundred leaders from the California automotive repair and service industry will gather in Sacramento this Monday, March 22, to lobby the legislature for reform of the state's workers' compensation workers' compensation, payment by employers for some part of the cost of injuries, or in some cases of occupational diseases, received by employees in the course of their work.  and auto repair regulatory systems.

Participants will be meeting with their legislators in the afternoon to communicate not only the impact of the past several years' legislation on their businesses, but their expectation that their legislators will follow the Governor's lead to craft a sensible, balanced reform of workers compensation.

The participants will also discuss reforms to the current automotive repair regulatory system and ways to dramatically strengthen the state's career technical education programs.
