California Prisons Choose Intergraph Solution for Standard Automated Preventative Maintenance System (SAPMS).HUNTSVILLE, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 2, 1998-- Intergraph Selected to Automate Facilities Management The management of a user's computer installation by an outside organization. All operations including systems, programming and the datacenter can be performed by the facilities management organization on the user's premises. at California Department of Corrections California Department of Corrections (CDC See Control Data, century date change and Back Orifice. CDC - Control Data Corporation ) has selected Intergraph Corporation to provide its prison system with a full-spectrum, turnkey solution for facilities management and asset-tracking. CDC will begin implementation with a pilot phase to be completed at department headquarters in Sacramento. This initial pilot phase will be followed by two additional pilot projects to be completed at two selected prisons prior to statewide installation. The preventative maintenance system will maintain data from each of CDC's 33 prisons, as well as two other facilities. Every piece of equipment within the CDC facilities will be barcoded and entered into a new automated facilities management system. The new system will allow CDC to generate, track and manage its workorders, including labor, materials, equipment and expense information. Intergraph will install local networked servers and workstations at the CDC sites, and then, with the help of its subcontractors, convert existing data into the new system. During this time frame, Intergraph will train CDC personnel on the new system. Intergraph Government Solutions Division is providing both project design and project management services to ensure the success of the program. This lifecycle phased approach meets CDC's needs for a system that can define, design, build and deliver a unified standard workflow, making the solution a true turnkey approach. Project manager Curt Colovos said, "We're always trying to maintain and improve the working and living environment within CDC.
