The restaurant was started in 1985 by attorneys Rick Rosenfield and Larry Flax in Beverly Hills, California, , Inc.  the communities it serves, California Pizza Kitchen will celebrate the grand opening of its new location by donating 100% of pizza sales on Monday, Aug. 25, to the Girl Scouts-Lone Star Council.

"Girl Scouts-Lone Star Council serves 24,000 members of Central Texas and more than 1,200 Girl Scouts Girl Scouts, recreational and service organization founded (1912) in Savannah, Ga., by Mrs. Juliette Gordon Low (1860–1927). It was originally modeled after the Boy Scouts and Girl Guides, organizations created in Great Britain by Sir Robert Baden-Powell during  in Westlake Hills immediately surrounding Barton Creek Square," said Larry Flax, Co-chairman and Co-CEO of California Pizza Kitchen. "We are pleased to donate funds to benefit programs that include training of leaders and the council's outreach program," said Flax.

 contemporary decor, the new location has creative pizza box art on the walls and an open-style kitchen, encouraging guests to watch pizzas bake while cooks assemble fresh pastas and salads.

General Manager of the new location is Rick Roy, who has been with the popular California-based restaurant chain for nine years, most recently in the San Antonio restaurant. Hours of operation are Monday-Thursday 11 a.m.-10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 11 a.m.-11 p.m.; and Sunday 11 a.m.-9 p.m.

California Pizza Kitchen, Inc., founded in 1985, is a leading casual dining chain in the premium pizza segment. The restaurant features hearth-baked pizzas, pasta, salads, soups and sandwiches.
