California Pizza Kitchen Debuts in Bakersfield, California, on February 1, 2005; Fundraiser to be held on Tuesday, February 8th to Benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Bakersfield.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- California Pizza Kitchen, Inc. (Nasdaq:CPKI), home to the Original BBQ Chicken Pizza and other innovative hearth-baked pizzas, made-to-order pastas, creative salads, appetizers, soups, sandwiches and desserts, opened its first restaurant in Bakersfield, California today at the new River Walk development.

Along with the popular BBQ Chicken Pizza, the menu features a wide variety of California-style items including everything from the Waldorf Chicken Salad, California Club Pizza and Jamaican Jerk Pizza to Kung Pao Spaghetti, Chicken and Shrimp Jambalaya and Thai Linguine. The new restaurant also features an extensive beverage menu with more than 40 specialty drinks, including CPK's original California Cosmo, and extensive lists of martinis, margaritas and cocktails.

A Grand Opening event to benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Bakersfield through a donation of 100 percent of pizza sales will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2005, from 11:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. The Boys & Girls Club of Bakersfield was created to promote the social, educational, health and character development of Bakersfield youth.

The new 5,900 square foot California Pizza Kitchen is located at 10150 Stockdale Hwy in Bakersfield. Hours of operation are 11:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. Friday and Saturday and 11:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday. Guests can dine-in, take-out or use CPK's Curbside Service and have the restaurant's curbside server deliver their order right to their car.
