California Pistachio Commission.


The California Pistachio pistachio (pĭstăsh`ēō, pĭstä`shēō), tree or shrub (of the genus Pistacia) of the family Anacardiaceae (sumac family). The species that yields the pistachio nut of commerce is P. vera, native to SW Asia. Commission promotes Donna Gavello to the position of communications manager. Gavello joined the staff in 1997 as the marketing coordinator. Previously, she worked for State Senator Jim Costa.
