California Olive Oil in the News -- Stella Cadente Wins Best of Show at Oils of the World Competition, L.A. County Fair; Stella Cadente Olive Oil Company Wins Prestigious Award Again!


ANDERSON VALLEY Anderson Valley is a sparsely populated region in western Mendocino County in northern California. Located approximately 100 miles (160 km) north of San Francisco, the name "Anderson Valley" applies broadly to several rural, unincorporated communities in or near the alluvial , Calif. -- Stella Cadente Olive Oil olive oil, pale yellow to greenish oil obtained from the pulp of olives by separating the liquids from solids. Olive oil was used in the ancient world for lighting, in the preparation of food, and as an anointing oil for both ritual and cosmetic purposes.  Company announced today that they have been awarded the Best of Show at the 67th Los Angeles County Fair The Los Angeles County Fair (also called simply the L.A. County Fair) is an annual event held in the Fairplex in Pomona, California, held every September. It is a carnival with rides, merchants, food vendors, cooking contests, and livestock. The 2007 L.A. , Oils of the World Competition, for their Italian extra virgin olive oil in the 'light' category. The Los Angeles County Fair had more than 400 extra virgin olive oils submitted for judging and is now the most prestigious and largest event of its kind in the world. The judging takes place in mid-May along with the Wines of the World Competition.

Stella Cadente is the only California producer to have won this prestigious award twice in the history of the olive oil competition. As well as being honored with Best of Show, Stella Cadente also won a Gold Medal gold medal
