California National Bank, Operation Hope, Local Adult School Launch Computer Literacy Program.


LOS ANGELES Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  -- California National Bank today announced the launch of a Computer Literacy Understanding computers and related systems. It includes a working vocabulary of computer and information system components, the fundamental principles of computer processing and a perspective for how non-technical people interact with technical people.  Program that brings together the Los Angeles Unified School District's Huntington Park/Bell Community Adult School ("HPBCAS"), Operation Hope, a self-help organization and Cal National Bank's Maywood facility for the purpose of providing residents of Southeast Los Angeles with access to high quality computer literacy training taught by State licensed instructors.

The collaborative program provides evening classes at Cal National's Maywood Branch that is also home to Operation Hope's HOPE Center. The evening classes are conducted in the facility's cyber cafe.

The computer literacy classes are taught on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The classes cover Microsoft Windows See Windows.
