California Micro Devices Names Dr. Edward C. Ross to Board of Directors.

) today announced that Dr. Edward C. Ross, president of TSMC TSMC Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, Ltd

 North America, has been appointed to its Board of Directors, effective immediately.

Dickinson, president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board. .

Prior to joining TSMC North America as president in 2000, Dr. Ross served as senior vice president of the Professional Services Group at Synopsys. In addition to his two years at Synopsys, his semiconductor industry experience includes three years at Cirrus Logic as president of the Technology and Manufacturing Group, six years at Power Integrations as president and CEO, seven years at Signetics (now Philips Semiconductors) as senior vice president of all product divisions and seven years at National Semiconductor, where his last position was managing director of the UK subsidiary based in Scotland.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Ross founded Inselek Corporation, a semiconductor company, in Princeton NJ. He also served as a member of the technical staff at RCA See RCA connector and video/TV history.  David Sarnoff Research Labs while attending Princeton University where he successively received MSEE MSEE Master of Science in Electrical Engineering
