SACRAMENTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 30, 2002

They undermine the very framework of the California Agricultural Labor Relations Act Labor Relations Act: see National Labor Relations Board; Taft-Hartley Labor Act.  itself.

"By the stroke of his pen, the governor removes the right of farmers and farmworkers to negotiate the terms and conditions of labor contracts. Forcing them into contracts, as dictated by these bills, is a travesty of justice to both parties. Now California is the lone state that imposes this unfair and unprecedented requirement on California's family farmers and workers.
