California Credit Union Opens New Branch in Inglewood.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. -- California Credit Union (CCU) celebrated the grand opening of its 10th branch in Inglewood on Wednesday, August 16. The new branch, located at 2852 Imperial Highway, was officially opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony, refreshments, giveaways, and door prizes. CCU was privileged to have United States Representative Maxine Waters (CA-35) and Inglewood Mayor Roosevelt Dorn participate in the ribbon cutting ceremony. During the event, CCU presented donations to the Inglewood Education Foundation, the Southwest Community College Foundation and the Centinela Valley Union High School District Education Foundation. Nearly 100 credit union members and guests attended the grand opening event.

Featured keynote speaker, Congresswoman Maxine Waters, opened the celebration with words that were echoed throughout the morning, "Many of you know that some of the major banks and other financial institutions abandoned many Los Angeles communities years ago. California Credit Union did the opposite and decided to invest in the people of this community. Credit unions have made a strong commitment to serve those communities where their members reside and this is truly a model for how other financial institutions can serve their communities."
