Manuel Baca, a member of California's Mount San Antonio College Board of Trustees since 1999, has been appointed by to the California Community Colleges Board of Governors for a three-year term. He will continue to serve on the college's board concurrently. Baca has worked at Rio Hondo College since 1982 and currently serves as a full-time faculty member, teaching political science, business management and business law. He was elected to Mt. SAC's Board of Trustees in 1999 and re-elected in 2003 and 2007. Statewide, Baca served on the California Community Colleges System The California Community Colleges system consists of 109 community colleges in 72 community college districts in the U.S. state of California. Created by legislation in 1967, it is the largest system of higher education in the world, serving more than 2.  Strategic Plan Steering Committee in 2005. Baca earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from California State University, Fullerton California State University, Fullerton, commonly known as CSUF, CSU Fullerton, or Cal State Fullerton, is a part of the California State University system. The University is located in the city of Fullerton, California, in northern Orange County. , and a doctorate from the University of Southern California The U.S. News & World Report ranked USC 27th among all universities in the United States in its 2008 ranking of "America's Best Colleges", also designating it as one of the "most selective universities" for admitting 8,634 of the almost 34,000 who applied for freshman admission .
