JETRO has a unique mission as a government-sponsored organization. Its prime activities are to assist American companies' success in doing business with Japan. To accomplish this mission, JETRO provides temporary office space in Japan at a nominal cost, offers free consultation in clarifying market feasibility and assists in finding business partners. Mr. Pedro Reyes, Deputy Director of Policy at the Robert Hertzberg office, presented the Resolution to Mr. Yoshihiko Saeki, President of JETRO Tokyo, on January 28. Mr. Saeki was visiting California to speak at the "Telematics Japan 2002-Beyond" Symposium.

"I am very pleased that we received this resolution in recognition of our efforts during the past 40 years in Los Angeles. We will continue to assist local companies seeking to develop business with Japan," said Tosaku Kobayashi, Chief Executive Director of JETRO Los Angeles.

JETRO has offices in 82 locations outside of Japan and eight offices in the United States. In California, JETRO is located in Los Angeles and San Francisco.
